Spontaneous, short and super-wicked: Majorca 2009
Tuesday, 22.September 2009
Monday night decided, booked and paid for - flight on Friday morning: that's how a Spontaneous holiday has to be! Despite initial difficulties such as defect in paint work and flat tires, we made a good start with our psychedlic-blue car. After the one-way street maze of the Ballermann we went off onto the road towards the "East Coast"! We hardly got out of the rotary with sing prohibiting the passage...
The mid-day we spent in the picturesque fishing village of Cala Figuera, with a picnic on the cliffs between the countless small fishing boats. Then we went straight to a beautiful sandy beach in a nearby bay where we got our first sunburn! The desperate search for the hotel 'Club Cala d'Or Park' in Cala d'Or turned out long due to wrong street names and the naming of the hotel (Hotel Cala d'Or). Thus it degenerated into a city tour...
When he finally arrived at the hotel we were excited about our spacious 3-bedroom suite - so much that we had set out immediately towards dinner! Find we were at the marina, where there were delicious pizza! Our last energy we squandered ata a balanced table tennis tournament before falling tired on our hard steel spring mattress ...
The second day began with a snoozed alarm clock at half past nine. After a delicious cereal with prunes on the terrace's we went on to PortoCristo to the Dragon's Hole with a concert at the underground lake.
After a brief city tour, we stopped for ?5.95 at an Asian restaurant for lunch where we were surprised by my cousin and her family.
THEN WE WENT DOWN TO THE BEST BEACH WE COULD FIND! There we also made the pictures for the postcards ...*dreaming-of-azure-crystal-water*
After a brief shower and shopping we went to a romantic barbecue on the rocks at night. With a disposable grill and mobile lighting almost campfire atmosphere emerged ;-) Between parrots and palm trees, we ended the evening on a cozy note with a cocktail in the Cheeky Tiki.
Sunday we made a trip inland. Particularly exciting was oncoming traffic on narrow roads limited by walls on the way to a monastery on a mountain. The impressive view was unfortunately marred by a light mist. Searching for bread we got hopelessly stuck in a crazy maze of one way streets, market stalls and vans! Only after the first stalls were dismantled, we succeded driving downtown against one-way streets and finally left again! On the market we also met a colleague of Phillipp from the ProCurve team.
The subsequent bathing in a new bay after picnicing on the cliffs was rather fresh *bizzl* As we couldn't decide which restaurant we wanted to be dragged into, we initially opted for a sundae, eating burritos with fries two hours later .
After a short night the alarm rang at 4:30 *definitly-to-early* Finally, there was cereal with milk in cut bottles in the car in front of the car rental office ... "Beautiful, good and astonishing - let's go home!"
